Update from Bryan at St. Mary's of the Lake
Lazy Saturday. Had Marijo and my sister here today. It was really nice to spend time with them. I was in my new wheelchair for a record 4 hours straight. My spirits are good. There is no physio here on the weekends, but Marijo and I went through a few sessions ourselves anyway. My schedule will be laid out for me on Monday morning. I had a prosthetic mold made for my right leg, which they call a socket, and on Monday they will do my left arm the same way. Those are the two limbs they will work on first, before they do anything else. Marijo and I also had a long talk with the doctor today to ensure that they continue to pay attention to my right hand in regards to therapy. We had a big storm here tonight around 6 pm and it knocked the power out for 3 hours, but did not affect us too much. Tomorrow I get to see my daughter, Jennifer, who has traveled here from Switzerland for a wedding. I had my first shower in two months on Friday, sitting in a commode chair. Almost fell through once...I think some rather large people have been sitting in these comodes. Sunday morning I get to have my next shower and Marijo is going to bring her bathing suit and do it. I did get to watch a bit of the British Open today, but I had to watch in the common area as my TV is not hooked up until Tuesday. That's it for an update. Hope you are well. I'll write more a few days from now once I have a better idea as to what my days look like. As far as visiting, right now I don't know my schedule, so hang tight and I will let in a few days when is best to visit.

Hi Bryan, good to know you had the ladies with you today and that you will be getting to see Jennifer tomorrow. Must be hard for her being so far away from you at this time but guess as long as you have a computer they are never too far away.
ReplyDeleteClarence and I went for a Harley ride over in the "County" today and then across on the ferry and back home, almost made it home before the heavens opened up but not quite so got kinda wet, but the power didn't go off here so you must have had it worse there.
Have a good night!
Love from Cousin Kim
