Doctors have decided to see if they can clear up a blood clot in my lungs, by putting me on Heparin, a blood thinner for 6 weeks. The only danger of this drug is that you can't simply turn the switch on and off, so if I should bleed shaving, for instance, it gets a bit messy, so we are moving to the electric razor for a few days so Marijo's hands don't shake too much.
Saw many doctors today, all interested in my right hand. They all felt progress was being made and we will continue with heavy therapy on that hand. I have had a few vistor's in the past few days which is nice to see. Going forward, it is nice to know ahead of time if you are planning to visit so we can ensure we are ready for you when you arrive.
Thanks to the Brockville folks for sending flowers. They are lovely.
We met with the prosthetics specialist at St. Mary's rehab and he is very encouraged by my progress and is recommending that they move me there in the next few weeks. He also mentioned getting me a wheelchair as soon as possible.
Yesterdays feat was sitting on my own for a minute and forty-seven seconds. My current weight is 68 kg (150 lbs).
Hey SUPAMAN!!!
ReplyDeleteJust got off the phone with you and I wanted to tell you...thank you. Thank you for making me smile. Speaking with you lifted my spirits. Always does. You truly are a blessing in my life and I am so happy I dont have to know what life would be like without ya.
Keep up all the great work.
Love Jenn
Hey Bryan,
ReplyDeleteI'm next on the visit list. I'm hoping we can plan one soon. Ron will tell me when is a good time for that: I'll bring the crazy venezuelan with me and any food that you may be craving (I know a place that makes the best rasberry tart if you are into that -; )
PS: We've had the SDDS session today at work, the guest speaker was Brian Price (I'm sure you know who is the guy). He shared a very very inspiring story of him becoming a world champion few years after a long battle against cancer. The very first thought that I had was this somehow similar to what you just went throu. I'm not gonna stretch it and say you can become a world champion, but I'm sure you have as much determination and courage as him....
We miss you buddy
Looking forward to seeing you ..
Just wanted to say that I am praying for you.
ReplyDeleteYou are a real inspiration!
Stay Strong, Bryan.
Good morning Bryan. Great to see you last night. Your looking better and better each time we see you. I'm also testing my computer skills after my lesson with MJ last night. Bill and I will probably come down next Tues before Bill's operation. Probably around 5. Will bring you a nice bowl of hamburger soup.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the physio. Golf tourney here you come.
