Fetch my slippers please...just need a dog

Sat up for the first time today but the food didn't get a whole lot better as a result. Starting into physio heavy tomorrow. I will be practicing sitting up by myself and did  I mention that I like the food here? It probably would be pretty good with several bottles of wine...but that's life...and I am alive.
Decided to post a photo that reveals a bit of my amputations. I hope it doesn't offend anyone, but it's reality for me. I am truly overwhelmed with all the cards, emails, posts to my blog and other support. You are all an amazing bunch and you help me get through each day more than you will ever know.
The doctors have really been talking up the progress made on my hand, thinking that is all falling into place very nicely, which is encouraging for me.
Marijo and I looked at the possibility of buying a fitted bike for two to allow me to use my limitations to my maximum advantage. I understand the golf tournament entry is filling up fast. I sure wish I could play, but I hope to to be able to at least see it live.
Not too much more to report other than that. See you soon! Love you all!

  4. Bryan: I'm astounded by your progress.
I'm not offended by your amputations.
I'm just relieved the devastating disease didn't take you all away. It left the best part behind: YOU. (and your sense of humour)
P.S.-We have 3 dogs we can loan you, although, I'm not sure they'd bring any slippers back or anything else, for that matter. They'd probably chew and eat them.
Keep up the great efforts to get better.

  9. Not offended at all...just keep your shirt on, don't turn it into one of THOSE kind of sites.

Its great to see your rugged good looks are undiminished, and still one of the best smiles in the Greater Belleville Area. Wishing you better food & cheerful nurses. Paula.

  10. Hi Bryan, you don't know us yet but I have a feeling you will in the near future. I'm Dennis, but friends call me Den, my wife is Jean and we have a son that lives in Switzerland named Dave...get the connection? We will be following your progress, you are an inspiration to everyone. You are living up to the new name Jenn told us about, "Superman". We met Jenn once at Tim Horton's in Toronto on Boxing Day, but we have been following along with her and Dave's travels. You have a special daughter, she has kept up up to date with your progress. We wish you strength to overcome what has happened. Take care, and we'll write again soon.

  11. Hi, you don't know me, I know one of your cousins and she has told us about you. I put your name in my prayer box. I just got over being bored, tired, frustated, upset... you are an inspiration.
