Bryan Walking with a Walker
Well it's amazes me how we as humans can go from one emotion to another. A couple of days ago it all seemed so tough to deal with. Now today I am on cloud nine. I just finished walking and went my furthest yet ....a distance of 21 meters or 65 feet before getting fatigued. Also was introduced to a cane vs a walker. At first I was mortified to lose the safety of the parallel bars and walker but as I took a few steps it became more comfortable. Then I took three unaided small steps with just the cane... I was inside the parallel bars when I did it but dam it felt good...woot woot.
This weekend being thanksgiving I get an extra day home. I also have permission to bring my left leg home so that Marijo and I can practise at home. I wish all the very best for thanksgiving. I will be going out Saturday evening with my dearest friends and then to my sisters house for a great meal and quality family time. My official release date from St. Mary's is October 21st.
Life is grand...isn't it...God bless!

Hi Bryan, you probably won't remember me but i'm your cousin Dan from the UK, Shirley's nephew. I think we met when i came over to Canada in 1989, tall kid, funny accent, no one could understand a word i was saying.lol.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, my Dad told me what you been through these last few months, couldn't quite believe it.
My sister and I looked through your blogs this afternoon, amazing stuff, very inspiring. well done for walking unaided, that must have been some experience. I like the way you've set up your website, especially the video clips.
Anyway I won't bore you any longer. Look forward to hearing you.
Cheers,
Dan
P.S whose your tip for the World Series this year?
